Summer Playscheme

Every day will be filled with different activities from drama, dance, tai chi, gardening, baking, arts and crafts plus lots more!

Children will have access to the main hall, kitchen and garden to play, relax and have fun.

Freshly prepared cooked lunch and freshly prepared snacks will be offered.

Dates: Monday to Friday, 1-26 August 2022

Time: 10am to 3pm

Ages: 7-11 years

Cost£22 per child per day or £90 for five days

No cost for Islington children eligible for the Holiday Activities and Food programme, HAF

Book your child’s place by emailing info@hargravehall.co.uk including which dates you wish to book, their name, date of birth and any requirements/dietary needs. If you have a HAF Code please provide this too.

Attending the Playscheme FAQ’s

What are the opening hours of the playscheme?

We are open from 10:00 to 15:00.

Is the playscheme open to children who do not live in Islington?

We are open to all children aged between 7 – 11 years old.

What should I do if I am running late to collect my child?

A mobile phone number will be emailed to you at the start of the holidays. Please contact us as soon as possible to inform us if you are going to be later than 3pm. Collections past 3pm are charged at £5 per 15mins.

Is lunch provided?

Yes, we will be providing freshly cooked lunch and snacks every day.

What should my child bring?

Please send your child to the playscheme each day with a refillable water bottle. In the case of wet weather please pack a waterproof jacket. In hot weather, we advise you send your child with a sun hat or cap.


Booking the Playscheme

How do I pay?

Once you have provided your required dates and child details we will send you an invoice to pay online or in cash to the office. Payment must be made to confirm your booking.

Can I book single, half or shorter days?

The minimum booking period is one day. you are welcome to collect your child early however please let us know in advance.

What if I don’t use my full week can I get a refund on the unused days?

No, unused days are non-refundable.

Is my child eligible for HAF?

Islington’s HAF programme provides free healthy holiday activities with a meal for Islington resident children and young people from 4 years to 16 years who:

  • receive benefits-related free school meals (FSM)
  • have an allocated Social Worker or Family Support Practitioner
  • have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)
  • are referred to a holiday activity provider by a professional working with the family to offer early help and support service

Parents can apply directly to the schemes or professionals and practitioners can apply for a child they are supporting here: Holiday Activities and Food programme.

Is the playscheme open to children eligible HAF who do not live in Islington?

At this time we can only accept children living in Islington who have provided the centre with their Islington-generated HAF code.

Do you accept Child Care Vouchers?

We currently do not accept childcare vouchers.

How far in advance do I/can I book?

All bookings require at least 3 days notice. This is to allow us to properly plan and arrange the correct staffing.

Can I get a refund?

Places can be refunded as long as they are cancelled at least 7 days in advance. Bookings cancelled with less than 7 day’s notice cannot be refunded. Partial refunds or refunds for days missed due to illness cannot be refunded.
